Job Description The successful candidate will join a small team working on several websites for strategic customers in the health sector. As well as working on existing processes and tasks on the websites, an important aspect of this role is working with customers to support improvements in the quality of data and information workflows through the websites. Responsibilities Work as a key member of the team – providing support across various websites Organise and prioritise workload. Set up and maintain content contributor networks, workflows and schedules. Structurally edit and proofread material for published reports and online database services, and for custom research reports, proposals and presentations. Prepare and upload content – tables, graphs, downloadable documents and associated data – for web publication using a content management system. This includes receiving and editing incoming copy to follow house style; sourcing and preparing images for publication; marking up final copy in HTML and liaising with the customer to ensure their needs are met. Maintain and develop standards for electronic publishing of material within the context of the clients’ internet strategy while also taking relevant copyright and technical issues in to consideration. Collate information from many sources to produce statistics reports, informative articles and other documents. Work closely with other members of the web content management team to develop and improve the websites. Participate in team meetings. Keep up-to-date with developments in the field of health informatics. Contribute to the longer-term communications strategy within the client team. Liaise with data and information partners/contributors. Oversee the availability of web services, liaising with the Managed Service division regarding any planned downtime Experience · Proven editing and proofreading skills, including working with house styles. · Proven experience using content management systems. · An understanding and appreciation of the web, website strategies and techniques for handling and improving content management, information architecture, accessibility, ease of use, etc. · Able to establish credibility with customers. · Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team. · Good attention to detail, the ability to deliver high-quality work to set deadlines and the confidence to take editorial decisions. · Able to research and check information and data. · Experience with image preparation – preparing and manipulating images for publication on the web. · Experience using HTML coding. · Experience creating and editing PDF, including accessibility tagging. · Able to quickly learn new techniques. · Able to explain concepts clearly and concisely. · Experience presenting a range of data in a clear and concise format. · Able to translate user requirement into a working solution. · A self-motivated and driven individual exhibiting a confident and mature style. A creative, lateral thinker who can act with limited supervision within own area of responsibility. Adaptable and results oriented – puts top priority on getting results. · Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
