Our client is seeking an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented self starter to join our Denver staff as a Senior Marketing Coordinator. In this full-time position, the individual will support the business development/marketing functions of the company at the district level by coordinating the development of marketing information, proposals, presentations, and public relations/communications materials/activities and supervising the district’s marketing staff. Typical duties and responsibilities of job include:
Job Requirements
- Coordinates the preparation and production of quality proposals, government forms, and qualification statements, ensuring efficiency and cost effectiveness. Ensures the availability of sufficient qualified staff and hardware/software to support department’s production demands. Coordinates system of kick-off and progress meetings for every proposal/presentation based on level of effort. Develops a well-organized library of photographs and graphics for use in proposals. Coordinates the preparation of brochures, newsletters, and other promotional tools and materials.
- Supports marketing efforts through a strong internal/external district marketing communications program. Participates in marketing/sales meetings, providing information to senior managers regarding existing and potential marketing opportunities. Helps communicate items of internal significance to employees. Researches and writes articles on newsworthy topics for internal and external consumption. Establishes and maintains media contacts and prepares news releases. Submits press releases to the local media, as appropriate, based on local need. Develops announcement cards for prominent new hires, or as requested by the firm’s business sectors.
- Monitors and controls district marketing support budgets. Maintains chargeability of district marketing support group and assists regional marketing manager in adhering to regional marketing budget.
- Provides support to marketing systems group and regional marketing database coordinator to ensure accuracy and currency of information on employees, projects, subconsultants, and clients housed in the Vision database. Develops and maintains district mailing lists, utilizing Vision data.
- Develops training programs on proposal preparation for both technical and marketing staff and conducts brown-bag sessions.
- Coordinates awards submissions, exhibits, and company participation in promotional events, e.g., groundbreakings, conventions, chamber events, etc.
- Prepares proposals and/or assists proposal coordinators in proposal production activities and provides quality control for all proposals submitted.
- Supports the regional marketing manager by gathering information for routine internal marketing reports.
- Supervises the district’s marketing personnel, providing guidance and training, as required.
- Monitors and controls staff's hourly chargeability. Develops a regular, organized program for projecting future work and manpower needs to efficiently maintain staffing levels that fit workload demands.
- Sets staff's annual performance goals and objectives, commensurate with overall program goals and objectives. Provides regular performance feedback to staff, with appropriate rewards for performance. Conducts quality, timely performance reviews and career development interviews with staff.
- May write business development correspondence of a general nature to relieve marketing representatives of office work. May assist in writing or editing technical correspondence/reports to ensure high quality of expression.
- Performs such other duties as the regional marketing manager may from time to time deem necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Marketing, or other related area, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Eight years of relevant experience is typically required with a Bachelor's degree. Without a degree, twelve years of relevant experience are typically required in addition to appropriate knowledge and skills.
- Excellent writing skills and attention to detail; proofreading ability and quality control orientation. Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, and composition. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
- Interpersonal and supervisory skills required.
- Job requires excellent organizational skills and ability to work under the pressure of multiple deadlines. Ability to plan and prioritize tasks. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and motivate professional staff.
- Job requires ability to process paper/electronic documents and operate computer keyboard. Knowledge of the Deltek Vision system, as well as desktop publishing, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software necessary, preferably Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Creative Suite, Design Edition.
