Senior Supply Chain Engineer
- Work with engineering unit to source for material that meet technical requirements, quality and cost budget
- Support program to obtain material costing during tender exercise
- Facilitate participation of engineering and QA in drawing/specification review with supplier to ensure clear requirement definition of purchases before award of orders
- Initiate supplier qualification, and coordinate with QA and supplier to conduct the qualification
- Evaluate, negotiate and award of orders to the selected supplier
- Arrange for shipment/freight for materials ordered from overseas suppliers
- Plan with warehouse on space requirement to store incoming materials
- Coordinate with production planner/controller and supplier to ensure delivery
Requirement
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/ Production/ Electrical Engineering with 3 - 5 years relevant experience in engineering & some experience in purchasing
- Preferably with strong passion and interest in the automotive field
- Possess knowledge of automotive systems and components and its manufacturing processes
- Able to read engineering drawings
- Resourceful with good technical & negotiation skills and a good network of suppliers
- Experience in conducting component cost analysis
- Knowledge in ERP (SAP or equivalent) will have an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint - Able to work independently and as a team
