Senior Software Engineer/ Technical Lead

As a technical lead, you will ensure that quality software is delivered by the team according to specification and the correct procedures are followed in line with technical and business objectives and company strategy.

The team is responsible for developing key company business systems based on Web related and opensource technologies. The team also provides day to day maintenance support for these systems

Requirements

• At least 5 years intensive experience in the analysis, design, implementation and support of medium to large complex applications at technical lead level
• At least recent 2 years of team leading experience
• Experience in web application development using: Java/J2EE, JSP, Servlets, MVC, HTML, Javascript, RDMBS, XML, Web Services

• Experience in either:

1. Spring and Hibernate frameworks, or
2. Advanced XML technologies such as:
   • XPath
   • XSLT
   • XQuery
   • XML Database

• Familiar with design patterns, experience in resolving real world problems using design patterns would be an advantage.
• Familiar with template engines e.g. Velocity, Freemarker
• Familiar with Open Source Java technologies and tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Maven, Subversion, Emma, Hudson
• Familiar with technologies such as Terracotta, Spring tc Server, RESTful web services, Squid.
• Team player with strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
• Strong believer in good code quality and re-factoring.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Possess can-do attitude, initiative, creativity and able to work under stringent time schedules
