Semantic Web Developer

Our client helps to transform the manner in which private sector and public sector organisations communicate and exchange their electronic and printed information through: Office document solutions, publishing solutions, communications and marketing solutions and correspondence management solutions. Our client has a 200 year history of delivering information and publishing solutions, a highly established leading publisher with a bibliographic catalogue of greater than half a million titles. A division of one of the world's leading information solutions providers (employing 10,000 worldwide). As the preferred recruitment partner for many years to this divisional publisher we have been asked to manage the recruitment for a Semantic Web Developer.

The successful candidate should have a good understanding of semantic web technologies and the semantic web stack, and be self-motivated to stay on the leading edge of this rapidly developing area.

We need enthusiastic people who are able to communicate the concepts of the semantic web and the implications to clients and other developers.

Ideally the candidate will have some experience of building applications on a large scale.

A good knowledge of the following are required:

• RDF

• RDFa

• Ontologies

• RDF stores (triplestores)

• SPARQL

• HTTP

• Restful architectures

• Sparql protocol

• XML

Ideally some knowledge and experience of some of the following would be useful:

HTML/CSS

XSLT

Java

Javascript/client-side libraries
