Job Description
Under the direction of the Applications Manager, the SharePoint/.Net Developer (Programmer/Analyst III) shares responsibility for the development of application software in all phases of the development life cycle. The SharePoint/.Net Developer works with client/professional staff and end-users to design, develop code and test applications in a complex, large scale, computing environment, and to provide on-going support of existing applications. The incumbent is responsible for writing programs using high-level languages and employing object oriented programming techniques, maintain and modify existing applications, assist in planning long-range development goals, and provide after hours systems' support. Sound judgment, expertise, and a desire to work - as part of a team providing excellent customer service in a positive work environment is essential.
Requirements
Ability to use Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 to create and maintain web pages.Demonstrated skill in web and windows based application security. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required in support of applications and deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to conceive, design, implement and maintain object oriented applications using multi-tier methodology using Winforms or Webforms interfaces. Working knowledge of VS.NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX and MS Team Foundation Server for Desktop Application developers.
Demonstrated experience in implementing VB6 and VB.NET. (5+ years). 5 years experience in database programming using Microsoft SQL Server and Transact SQL.
Detailed working knowledge of relational databases and database management techniques. B.S. degree or advanced certificate in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years experience with complex systems analysis and writing code, or equivalent combination of education and experience. MCSD Certification for .NET or MCTS or MCPD for .NET Framework 2.0 and Visual Studio 2008 or equivalent experience is preferred.
Writing and Language skills sufficient to prepare clear documents ranging from routine business correspondence to detailed technical documents. Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with coworkers, managers, supervisors, customers/clients, and members of the public. Ability to respond to customer needs and expectations in a supportive and professional manner, with attention to promptness and a focus on solutions to provide excellent customer service. Ability to prioritize and organize work, determine and meet deadlines and proactively communicate with others in a clear and concise manner. General knowledge of various PC based packages such as Excel, Word, Outlook and Access. Knowledge of various microcomputer operating systems, including Windows 2008 Server, Windows XP, Windows 7, and VMware Workstation. Ability and willingness to share expertise and knowledge in the use of high- level programming languages or new technologies.
Ability to quickly learn the business environment, goals, and objectives of client departments sufficient to internally identify new methods and processes.
