Quality Assurance Engineer (Reliability)
Job Purpose
To provide reliability and QA engineering support in the development of reliable satellite systems.
Principal Accountabilities
- Evaluate parts and materials for use in space applications.
- Perform reliability analyses to identify high failure rate components and assess the adequacy of satellite redundancy configuration.
- Conduct radiation analysis to assess the build-in shielding of the satellite and predict the frequency of radiation induced errors.
- Perform environmental stress screening on assembled hardware to remove weak parts and workmanship defects.
- Conduct audit to ensure implementation of QA procedures including nonconformance control, waiver/deviation and FRACAS.
- Conduct audit to ensure proper keeping of QA records and observation of contamination controland electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions.
- Perform Failure Analysis to determine root cause of failures.
Requirements
Relevant skill and knowledge:
- Reliability analyses including reliability prediction, Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis and Fault Tree Analysis.
- Component selection and application guidelines.
- ISO9000 Quality Management System
Certified Reliability Engineer, QA Engineer or ESD Professional is an advantage.
