Job Purpose

To assist the QA Engineer in providing reliability and QA engineering support in the development of reliable satellite systems.

Principal Accountabilities

• Compile and maintain parts and materials list
• Standardize commonly used parts to obtain better pricing and meet minimum order quantity requirement
• Identify and track the delivery of long lead time items.
• Set-up and conduct qualification tests for non-standard parts
• Perform incoming inspection (both visual inspection and functional tests) of electronic parts
• Conduct checks to ensure correct kitting of parts for assembly.
• Perform environmental stress screening (ESS) on assembled hardware to remove weak parts and workmanship defects.
• Conduct quality control (QC) inspectionduring satellite assembly, integration and test to check forconformance to standards and specifications.
• Witness subsystem and satellite tests to ensure conformance to test procedure and use of calibrated equipment
• Perform reliability analyses to identify high failure rate components and assess the adequacy of satellite redundancy configuration.
• Conduct audit to ensure proper keeping of QA records and observation of contamination controland electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions.

Requirements

Relevant skill and knowledge:

• Reliability analyses including reliability prediction, Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis and Fault Tree Analysis.
• IPC Workmanship Standards (e.g. IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610 and IPC-WHMA-A-620)
• ISO9000 Quality Management System
