The Occupational Therapist would be joining a multi-disciplinary practice that includes a team of special educators, speech therapists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. 

Responsibilities will include: 

  • performing assessments on assigned students
  • developing IEP or IFSP for those requiring direct or consultative services,
  • planning, initiating, periodically reassessing the effectiveness of program services,
  • providing direct service to students and consultative services to educate staff/parents
  • advising, instructing, and assisting educational staff in carrying out OT plans within the school environment,
  • occasionally facilitating the procurement, fabrication, modification, and adjustment of adaptive equipment needed for the physical managementplan,
  • coomunicates with parents and educational/school therapy staff on a regular basis through telephone calls, meetings, or in writing,
  • keeps ongoing log of all visits with the program objectives and progress,
  • maintatins paperwork according to guidelines and adheres to timelines,
  • coordinates students' program with other therapists and educational staff for the purpose of acheiving uniformity of goals,
  • refers questions that should be addressed by physician/primary medical facility regarding students' medical needs to coordinator/supervisor for follow-up, and
  • performs, writes annual/re-evaluation reviews prior to review date- other reviews are prepared as needed  and submitted to IEP manager in time for meetings. 

Requirements

Occupational Therapist must possess a minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy. Experience with the pediatric population preferred. Must possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to travel between sites and provide services at multiple locations in a workday.
