Lab Infrastructure Technician
The Technician is responsible for working on special assignments and prototype projects that are moderately complex in nature, where good judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations; Fundamental software lab development and support activities are as follows:
Maintain lab environments to support the SaaS QA and Development teams.
Provide infrastructure installation and configuration of SaaS lab infrastructure which includes server, storage, workstation and network hardware.
Create, review, publish and communicate lab infrastructure configuration instructions. Job Responsibilities:
Must be able to diagnose problems with the SaaS lab infrastructure.
Must be able to produce reliable and usable infrastructure to support the SaaS product requirements.
Maintains documentation of lab infrastructure and reports results to lab team.
Identifies and documents exact sequence of activities that produce the lab infrastructure and ensures that documentation is located in a secure area for all lab team members.
Determine best methods and procedures for configuring and installing new lab environments.
Completes all tasks in a resourceful and effective way. Performs regular site assessments and keeps lab inventory up-to-date.
Responsible for documenting any changes to the lab infrastructure.
Job Requirements
Associates degree in appropriate computer science discipline
Must be able to produce highly reliable lab environments with little guidance
5 years experience with Software Lab environments Preferred Skills:
Experienced with Dell Server hardware including 1000x series blade servers
Networking principles
VMWare ESX version 3.5 and above
Equallogic/Dell Storage
Windows and Linux operating systems
