Energy Engineer

Job Description

• Perform comprehensive energy audits to identify and prioritize Energy Conservation Measures; provide cost analysis of ECMs and other energy audit data emphasizing our clients’ return on investment
• Execute commissioning and/or retro-commissioning assignments
• Review and optimization of building control systems and EMS performance
• Analyze mechanical systems
• Review construction documents
• Participate in project teams on assignments designed to reduce energy use and demand
• Interact with client staff and client principals
• Develop written reports that convey technical information in narrative form
• Participate in a diverse range of supply and demand-side consulting projects

Required Technical Skills:

• 4 Year engineering degree (required) - Mechanical engineering degree preferred; industrial and electrical engineering degrees will be considered -- BS required; MS preferred
• Understand and apply mechanical engineering principles for HVAC applications
• Audit existing energy consuming equipment and diagnose problems
• Thorough understanding of MEP drawings and construction specifications
• Analyze real-time data collected by data loggers and utility bill data  
• Thorough understanding of utility rates and utility billing protocols
• Fieldwork on evaluating mechanical systems
• Financial and statistical analysis
